About Me

I work in the library at Ohio University. My hobby is almost any kind of cooking. I love to make bread, I am learning to make artisan chocolates and I am the Dessert queen of the library. Interestingly, I don't particularly like sweets myself, I just love to make them for others.

More Chocolate experiments

Recently, I created 3 types of hand dipped candies. The first was a lemongrass infused ganache, the second a chocolate ganache with Grand Marnnier, and the third sea salt caramels, all dipped in Valhrona 62% chocolate. I experimented with using chocolate transfers to add a decorative
touch.

Our good friend Terry Geddes suggested that my Chocolates needed a name. His suggestion was original. What do you think?

Edie,
I have had good luck and bad regarding morels. This year I didn't find a single mushroom. Many people told me the late frost killed them this year. I have had the best luck finding them along the banks of rock beds, especially around decaying logs. Generally if you find one, keep looking in that same area because quite often there are more. I personally think they are the best tasting mushroom of all the fungi.
